Time flies in this area. It was already around 4 pm, when I arrived at the trail head, which leads to the congruence of the colorado and green river. I planned to go there, to see how the green and reddish water mix or actually does not mix, but creates a two colored river. However, the path to that place is around 5 miles / 9 km. So I probably could have it made by daylight under the best circumstances, but the return trip would have been in full darkness and that would definitively have been a bit too dangerous in these canyons, where the ways are at least as difficult as on a hiking path in the alps.
So I decided to enjoy the outlook a bit from the trail head and play with the ravens, which appeared suddenly. I guess, they hopped for some food. In order to the nicely setup for a close up photo, I gave them some stones instead. As expected, they where curious enough to check out what I placed onto that tree. After that modeling session, the started to make out. Time for me to go and leave them alone…
